Any more info? If not, I would suggest some basic diagnostic tests: EEC-IV selft-tests, fuel pressure, timing (SPOUT?), engine vacuum, others?

REB..... does it amtter if the motor is cold?? motor hott?? both?? done any changes lately?? how many miles??

check the catylitic converter also. i had a car once that did that ,and by the time i had checked the timing and all that , the converter was glowing red. hope this helps!
