Hydralic Brakes
I have a friend that purchased an all original unrestored 1936 ford pickup. It has the nasty mechanical brakes on it. He was telling me the other day that he could use spindles off of a 48-52 ford pickup and put them on. This would give him hydralic brakes. Well I dunno much about the 36 ford pickups and im sure someone makes a disc brake conversion for this truck also. I wanted to ask you guys about this. Is a 48-52 the right year for him to get the brakes off of? Does anyone know who makes the disc brake conversion if he chooses to go that route? Thanks.

I 'think' the 48-52 spindles are what he wants to use. I hate to do this, but somebody over at fordbarn.com could answer your question. The car and pickup truck chassis are the same up thru 40 or 41, so a car site will have the right info.
