Vibration isolator on exhaust piping
Do our trucks (97) have a vibration isolator on the exhaust pipe? Ever since ive had a new muffler and the tail pipe moved behind the right rear wheel,I get a vibration every now and then. I saw on another website a vibration isolator on a 2000 truck.

I got a vibration/rattle on startup a few weeks after getting a new muffler installed, it was a broken weld on a hanger. I went back to the muffler shop and got them to intall a clamp instead of the tack weld and that took care of it. I would get under the truck and give the muffler and pipes a tug (after it has cooled down!) and see if something is loose. I've heard of this vibration isolator, but I believe it's to take care of driveline vibration and it goes somewhere near the back bumper (I think?)

Yes, these are the oval looking factory rubber pieces on the hangers. If they are not used, you can possibly get a vibration.
Most aftermarket hangers have a real stiff rubber on them which doesn't isolate the vibrations very well.
