Some ******* left their lights on the other day and killed the batteries.
That would be me.
Anyways, charged them mfers up. Seem good, all great.
Truck only wants to push 13.0-13.3v from the alternator, okay whatever.
Weird part is... No battery light while idling.
Battery issue light comes on at 55 down the road like there is an issue. but its still showing 13v charging.
So I know were not loosing voltage, cause... well batteries are not 13 volts, So the alternator is making something.
Albiet low. which is random cause that should not make any difference with batteries having been drained, then recharged.
But usually its the light is on while idle, and as you bring the RPM's up, the light goes away. This is the opposite.
So... bad alternator??
I think this is an orilieys special as they dont sell the bosh anymore and I would have had to custom order one of those when my old bosh of 10 years finally croaked.
to be pedantic, you didn't specify where to pull the ground from.
Testing stuff with a meter is... tricky.
I didn't find my other issue with bleeding alternator until i took it off and did it some really specific ways to find out an issue was going on.
Dropping the batteries overnight too. which was messed up.
But the alternator tested fine in all the other ways. Charge, everything.
