So I refer to my 12" center screen as the Forrest Gump display because you never know what you're gonna get....
During driving the screen will randomly change from rear camera, which I selected, to audio, or some other obscure choice. This has happened from Day 1. I have lived with this as I didn't want whatever collateral damage the Dealer would inflict in their attempt to resolve this issue.
I learned today from a Service Tech that Ford is planning a fix through an OTA update, with no need to bring the vehicle to the Dealer. No timeframe provided from Ford...
Any of y'all have a similar issue? I can't be the only one if a fix is being developed...
I joke that the Ford system is made of leftover Commodore 64 parts from the 1980's, and the software written by a 3 year old. There is a hint of truth in every joke... and I consider Ford's system a joke in and of itself.

really? brand new 2026 F-250 Platinum owner and I love the infotainment system. Prior to this I had a GMC 2021 Denali HD 2500, and then a GMC 2024 Denali 1500. The 2024 had the new system that was Google-capable, so you already know where this is going. man that system was slow....would reset with the GMC logo at least a couple of times a week.....my soft-button XM radio favorite stations would default to no channels every one in a while.....i would have go scan and put them back in. Every time i brought up Waze on the main tile, then change the sub-tile on the display, i would lose Waze and it would jump to the onboard nav system.....just terrible software.
I only have 1500 miles on my truck but it's a night and day difference....the entire system is snappy fast. For the first time, ever, in any vehicle, I am able to spread my Waze map across the entire screen......all 12" of it......just fantastic to be able to do that. I have had 0 issues or malfunctions with the display.......night and day difference from the GMC system. Does tick me off that the nannies will NOT let me dial a phone number with the on-screen dial pad in CarPlay. first time I have every heard of that before......the customization of the sub-windown tiles is great, and I can get everything set up exactly like I want it. a very intuitive system to learn.....well, iin my truck anyway.
Never had this issue with my 2023. I havent had any issues with my 26 yet either. I was actually happy with how well it worked compared the infotainment systems in my previous Sierras. My 2023 Sierra would sometimes go full volume with no input from me. Nothing quite like trying to drive and keep turning the volume know down as fast as you can to try to keep the volume at a somewhat reasonable level. It would last for a minute or two usually. Never got a fix for it.

wow, now that's a new one on me.....insanely dangerous.......glad you were able to keep control whenever that happened...
DIC resets itself to defaults when truck has been off a day or two. Have to re pick the metrics I want to pay attention to. Ironically the calm screen is always an option which doesn’t have a calming effect.

The system in my 2017 2500HD was better than whats in the Ford. I won't bother listing what goes wrong with mine, because you aren't going to care.
FIL has a '23. His only issue with the infotainment was solved long ago by a software update, though he got it done at the dealer. There were times when his screen would just stay black at startup, and would eventually come on...or not...until he restarted the truck and it worked again. It was only the screen - music was playing in the background and he could make/receive voice calls. I have never seen an infotainment system that would randomly change from one screen to another without input, OTHER THAN eventually turning off the camera view the first time (after a few minutes). Even then, turning the camera view back on usually makes it stay up.
I am a big proponent of having any issue occurring under warranty documented, even if their resolution is 'cannot duplicate at this time.' Because IF that thing fails just outside of warranty, yet it's been a documented, persistent issue the entire time, the dealer will usually work with you on it, if not straight up replace it to keep a customer happy.
That said, I am well aware that not all dealership service departments are the same, and some are pretty shady. My own has taken a slide from a year ago, but they had a lot of turnover. It is starting to get back to where it was. It's a shame since that's what most people have to deal with.

This sounds like you've got a short that is causing everything to lose power and memory. Or you're getting CONSTANT OTA updates, as an OTA update will sometimes (often times) reset the DIC to default. It's annoying, because then I have to remember what screens I had in the MyView...and the calm screen is never a screen I have in it.
