Do I have to Remove the Oil Pan

Radiator and water pump are both leaking so I pulled them both out. Timing cover leaks oil like a **** so I thought I'd gasket that up and replace the timing chain and gears.

Do I have to remove the oil pan to do so? Shop manual says to do so but I'd rather not if I don't have to.

EDIT: n/m I found this

No you don't need to remove the pan but you will need to use enough sealant to seal the corner when you put it back together. If I recall some of the bolts holding the cover on goes into a water passage so sealant will be needed on a those 1-2 bolts.

You will find it about impossible to just push the front cover on there with the oil pan in place, and a new end seal in the cover
I've been known to file 13 the end seal and use straight silicone for the end seal
Then that cover pushes right on there
I've done it both ways
Just push down real hard and the dowl pins will align and you can push the cover in
Sometimes that squashes out the gasket and the silicone you need
Best of luck, you can do it
