Updating an Excursion

Looking for suggestions and idea about updating/moderization/grandson(s) project for my 2002, 4x4 ,7.3 PSD, Excursion with just over 210K miles. I already have in service on my truck.... a 4" exhaust, Hydra tuner, boost fooler and a Momentum intake from aFe, Mishimoto 37 row transmission cooler, external transmission oil filter, Oil by-pass 2 micron oil filter, external cooling system filter. Paint still looks good.

In addition....I've already got 2005-07 axles (donor truck) , 20" Ford OEM wheels with 275-x65R-20 tires, and I'll be adding air lockers. I will be adding/doing a KC turbo tow package that includes 180-30's, new tunes for my Hydra tuner. Adredaline HPOP oil pump, new oil lines, up graded fuel system, turbo pedestal and up pipes.

Interior sound deadening, new sound system and speakers, and freshen up the interior with new leather (done once before) and carpet. I will not be getting leather from the "Seat Shop", didn't last 1/2 the time as the OEM leather.

Paint and body is currently 7.5 out of ten. paint in excellent condition, some rocker panel rust but 'controlled', so I'll probably wait until the truck is on the road and the bugs worked out before any cosmetics. Would love those automatic running boards. The truck will remain as the mule, doing lots of towing. It's also gonna be a "family" project.

Looking forward to suggestions and ideas.

well, being 83 now, I got rid of those damn U-shaped foot steps, slipped off of them twice and almost broke a hip.

now have the ARM Research electric steps, covers driver and passenger doors.
Expen$ive, but well worth it to me.

Look at my Signature for the Add on stuff.

I had katzskin do my interior. "desert" is what matches the beige we had (if you had beige). Their stuff seems very nice, and plush.

On our 2000 7.3L Ex (now at 218k), we bought it with Warn manual locking hubs, and I put in an S&B cold air intake since the OEM battery tray / air filter box combo had broken.
We picked up a round roof vent from the junkyard and cut into the headliner above the rear middle seat since that's the only seat that didn't have its own.
Had captain's seats & a console up front but installed a front center seat from an F250 to get to 9 seats.
Had a local seat/mods/accessories shop do leather from Katzkin (pretty decent quality so far, after 4 years) and new carpet (turned out terribly lumpy and unprofessional).
Want to eventually do a new headliner just because of the PO's short dog hair embedded in it, but it's not sagging & could be handled tediously with tweezers.
Put in a back-up camera (very handy for hooking up a trailer), front bumper camera (just because the new head unit had 2 camera inputs), Compustar alarm/remote start with Drone GPS tracking (installed by CarToys), new sound system (Kenwood DVD double-DIN receiver with Apple carplay/Android auto, all 6 speakers with new wiring and an amp to power the 4 toward the front (since new head units aren't designed to run 6 speakers), single subwoofer & amp in the cargo area). I ran the Kenwood USB ports to a panel-mount module I found on Amazon for $20 and installed above the dash cupholders. I used a 3-position toggle switch and some 12V relays to manually control power to the front & rear cameras, and wired the rear camera power/activation to the reverse signal wire from the steering column (in parallel to the switch relay).
Just replaced the yellowed & hazy headlights & orange turn signal lenses with clear Eagle Eyes from eBay.

Well, if you listened to what everyone told you to do with your vehicle, it wouldn't really be yours, would it?

If money is no object, and it seems like you've put some into yours, do whatever floats your boat.
