Yep, no worries on this port. The heads are the same casting on both sides. If this head were a driver's side head, this "port", plus a bit of machining, would be a coolant passage.
Extra freaky to me because it has a gasket! . . . and a thing bolted to it "wrong" while it runs just fine.
I bet people will be asking about this until the end of time. This was my first tech question after I joined!
