What do you use for packing taper wheel bearings?

Pack by hand or use a tool?? I don't do wheel bearings often. Once a year or so. Not sure if I should try a packer or keep doing it by hand?

I was looking at one of these style. OEM brand is fair. But not sure on how people like them. Reviews are always mixed. Asking on here where people know how to use tools. Is there is a decent one (at a decent price) that would hook to a grease gun and blow out old grease?? Or back to wash out and repack??

Back in the days I worked at a real gas station as I was working my way through school, they had a bearing packer that actually worked very well... of course it was attached to the top of a 55 gallon drum of grease, the bearing sat in a tray that had a hole in the center, you placed a lid on top of it and pushed down by hand... it worked faster than if you did it by hand and it was excellent IMHO as it pushed all the old grease of completely!. I have tried the ones that are similar that use a grease gun, and they work but it is really not any aster or cleaner than packing them by hand....

I have seen a few bearing packers, and one is on the shelf because I just can not toss it..
Faster for the 4 I do every 30,000 or so miles by hand on the truck.. less mess and waste after as well. I may or may not do the double axles on the RV at the same time if not completed for the year yet.

I looked at some like that... But seemed like they are now made of plastic and reviews say they will strip out the grease zerks.

That's a weird one. I've always either done it by hand or used one of the ones that is two cone plates on a threaded shaft that the zerk connects to.

Yea, the 2 cones ones are getting cheap and made of plastic.
