2011 4.0 4x4 and 5 speed swap

Ive got a 2wd automatic 2011 4.0 ranger and I want to put 4x4 and a 5 speed in it, I figured out all the front end stuff but what trans and transfercase combo do I need? Can't find any FX4 level 2 trucks around and I was thinking I can find a 90-97 truck with a 5 speed and manual shift case pretty easy but Im finding some conflicting information about if my 4.0 will accept a trans from the 90s.

I can get a newer 5 speed from a 4x4 truck easy too but I dunno if I can bolt the manual shift case to that either.

Anyone actually know these trucks and the 4x4 optioned ones? Everyone I know in person only really messes with the 2wds and everywhere online litterally only says ask here.

Also my first time posting here so if i screwed something up lmk

Apparently you could get a 5 speed automatic so watch out when you're looking around. "5 speed" might confuse people.

Bring a Trailer is a good place to do some research. Seems like much work when a sell and swap might be easier. Good luck.

Yeah the automatics have 5 gears too, sell and swap would be the sensible choice but ive already got 90% of the parts I need and id be lucky if I got 500$ for my ranger (380k km, real beat up, 4 colors, video evidence of me jumping it like 4 times lmao). I might just get a bunch of stuff and figure it out since I can get stuff fairly cheap around here and just sell off the rest that aint what I need or keep it for other stuff. Wouldn't even own this truck if my 6.9 IDI wasn't siezed solid but here we are.
