Help with urethane primer

I am having a problem with spraying Summit urethane primer. I thin it 4:1 with activator, and add a small amount of reducer. My gun has a 2.0 tip, and I'm using about 45 psi air. With that, I am getting like half the amount of primer out of the nozzle as I should, or as I have with other guns. Because of that, I am having to move the gun very slowly just to get coverage.
I'd like to get this sorted out since I have a complete paint job coming up.
Am I not using enough reducer? Not enough air pressure?

That should flow from a 2.0 tip nicely. Is the ambient temp, primer and surface warm enough? Don't add to much reducer because you want it to build high, but are you running the right flow reducer for the temps? Can you try warming up the primer before spraying? Are you sure the gun is clean, tip and air vent in the cap?

Today I went and bought a new cheapo primer gun. I grew up using a Brinks #7 syphon gun, so I bought that style, with a 1.8 tip. The problem gun was clean, temp in the 70's when spraying, with 45psi spray pressure. I was only using about 10% reducer. I'm hoping that with the top coat being thinner than the primer soup I was trying to spray, that this gun will spray the top and clear nicely. I'll test it out on a couple of areas in the door jambs as a test run. If it is not spraying well in the jambs, I may just switch over to the new gun. We'll see. Thanks.

Yeah, base and clear shoot way easier than high build for sure. The gun will act totally different shooting lighter paint, though you want a 1.4 tip for base and 1.3 for clear. The 2.0 or even 1.8 would be run city. Still, I'm surprised w/ a 2.0 tip, the high build didn't spray right out for ya. Probably a gun issue.
