Has anyone seen this rear screen setup?

This may be a dead end, but I thought I should ask since there are so many folks on here that have posted a similar question.

My Excursion has a DVD player mounted under the driver's side second row. Powers on and appears to still work. The screen is missing (broken off hinge, cable with male end remains with the black housing).

I've looked over the internet and the forum, and I could not find a similar molding. The rear climate controls fit into the tan piece. I could not find a part/model number on the black housing. I was going to try and find an exact replacement to fit before retrofitting in a different one, though that may be necessary in the end. Just want to do my best to make it look good and not leave a big hole in the ceiling.

I believe that is a dealer installed Rear Entertainment System because if the Ex was not equipped with an RES from the factory the rear heat controller was mounted in the center of the Ex. As pictured in the previous post the factory RES spans the entire second row. When I was looking to purchase my 03 Ex the dealer didn’t have one in stock with the RES and wanted to install one fire me, I declined and purchased my Ex from a different dealer who had what I was looking for in stock. The 03-06 Expedition has a similar DVD system that are readily available and you might be able to use parts from that to repair yours. I found a NOS DvD player from an 06 Expedition and replaced my DVD unit in my system which fits perfectly, All that is required is to re-pin the connector as the Excursion has a different wire pattern Just switch the position of a few wires and your in business, plugs right in

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, that makes sense being a dealer unit versus the larger factory setup, which seems to be more common. It looks like the rear climate controls were moved from the original position, judging by the cutout in the headliner further forward and the wiring extensions that were made to move it further back.

Looks like a lot of the expedition units had the dvd player mounted with the screen. I'll keep digging around and see if I can find a screen only expedition unit that might fill the tan trim. Worse case scenario, I can fill in with a piece of wood and mount a new slim screen to that of similar size.
