Hi All,
My 2006 F-150, 4.6 V8 decided, yesterday, to start idling rough. At one point it just died. I have an active error that says my bank 1 and bank 2 is too lean. I have Forscan and would like to look at it while idling to see if there is anything else happening at the same time, but nothing I choose to look at seems to have any information of value. There a just so many to choose from and their identifiers don't mean a lot to me. I get RPMs but I don't know what many of these readings are or what they are for? So, does anyone know what I should look at to get a complete diagnosis of my truck problem?
I would first spend my time looking for a vacuum leak before diving down what could be a rabbit hole. You're probably going to end up looking for a vacuum leak anyway. Usually the PCV hose/system.
Thanks, SHO89, for your reply. After this many years that should have been obvious to me and the first thing to look for. I didn't even think of it. Just goes to show you how having vehicles that don't give you any problems for so long can lull you into stupidity.
As soon as I get my coffee, I'm going under the hood! I would still like to know more about how to use this tool. I can't just study it because it has to be on and connected with the vehicle to access the settings. I see a couple hours of YouTube in my future.
