Well I just bought my first OBS Ford, my first diesel, and technically my first truck (currently drive a GMC Savanna 3500 so basically a truck). 1997 F250, regular cab, long bed, 7.3 PSD, ZF5, and 4x4. So she's basically my dream truck. The good: only paid $2250 for her. The bad: she doesn't run. The PO used to work at the same company I now work for and many of my older coworkers spoke highly of him so I believe everything he told me on the truck. He said it was running about a month ago, was getting low on power, and starting to smoke, and then eventually just wouldn't start. It has brand new tires and batteries so that's even more reason I believe that it was running not too long ago. I had him crank it over for me and it cranked fine however it sounded like it may have a skip in one of the cylinders. I haven't started digging into it any more than that but for $2250 I felt like I couldn't pass up on it and am prepared for the worst if need be (entire motor rebuild). What do y'all think? How did I do?
Thanks for the welcome! That was sort of my thought process behind it as well. I've lurked on marketplace and parts websites long enough to at least know if it goes south and I determine I'm too far over my head, I can at least get my money's worth somehow
ahhhh Shadowfax. Brings me back to another member on a different forum with a white bronco. He always had good content. I think he sold that thing though.
Oh yea I'm ready to spend some dough. I'm sure I will still learn my lesson someway about how expensive diesels are lol. Forscan and the no-start 7.3 PSD flowchart are where I am going to start first!
