I have a 2000 Excursion XLT with leather power driver seat - not heated.
I bought 2001 leather Limited seats that are power and heated.
The wiring connection plug is different for the drivers side and there are not any wires in the 2000 Exc XLT on the passenger side as the seat is manual adjust and did not come with the heater. I would like for the seat heaters to be connected and functional.
My question is, is it possible to use the 2001 seat wiring in the 2000?
It looks like the seat wiring is a part of the main harness that goes to the rear of the truck and not separate.
Would the whole harness need to be used?
Most likely yes, But the color codes and possibly the wire locations within the plugs may differ. I added heated seats to my 01 that never had them. and added power the to passenger that never had power. Only the seat mounted harness tying the module and heaters was needed, something that came with the scrap loaded seats I bought. Scroll through my thread to find those posts, maybe it'll give you some direction. I can supply the 2001 Electrical schematics from the Ford book, but you will most likely need a 2000 schematic book too.
