Hey all, finished my M5R2 swap on an auto 5.4. Drives like an old school muscle car with 4x4 and 450HP!
Parts List is basically this:
99-2008 M5R2 with bolt pattern for a for modular ford 5.4/4.6
f-250 5.4 manual trans pressure plate
M5r2 Clutch disk and pilot bearing
master/slave cylinder kit for M5R2
clutch/break pedal set from a 04-08 manual v6 f-150
I used the existing transmission mount and cross member, just had to weld a plate on it to extend it forward a bit and mount it
BW4416 bolts right up and I did not have to change the drive shaft length as the auto in these and a M5R2 are within a 1/2 inch in length
The main point is the 04-08 5.4 F-150's are the last generation 1/2 ton 4x4 V8 that you can feasibly swap a manual into with available bolt on parts and if you want add some boost to get to a 450-500HP mud/street truck. The last thing I am going to do is a gen 1 raptor body panel conversion. I always wanted a manual v8 raptor.
