E4OD Pressure way too high
In all gears, the line pressure is in excess of 150psi. What may be the cause?
Year: 1992 Bronco 5.0L
*no codes in the EEC-IV. (EEC-IV is good)
* wire harnesses and connectors are good (new)
* communication between connector terminals and PCM have been verified
*verified EPC functionality and communication with pcm.
* have also manually activated all solenoids via special wiring harness.
* I did rebuild the pump
* during one of my test drives, the line pressure was to spec (I’m guessing something became unstuck). All other test drives 150+ psi.
* hose with pressure gauge routed to the cabin for real time monitoring of pressure installed.
* fluid flow verified between trans and cooler
* reman converter installed
* all gears are operational

If it helps, I have a temp/pressure gauge on the dash of my 95 F250/5.8L. With the 'upgraded' pressure spring [in the pump housing], the lowest pressure is about 85-90psi. The stock regulating spring is no less than 65psi. The computer regulates that pressure and varies with load/rpm. The computer does a good job setting the pressure to assure a good shift.
I had issues when the system would go into limp home and with the mods I did, the shift was worse than harsh.
