What suggestions do any of you have for decent shop stools that have backs on them? I need something around 23" seat height, at this point just feet with no casters is fine. Figure its a typical shop - tools, fabricating, oils, solvents.
When I needed a couple of shop chairs a few years ago here's what I did. I went to Target, bought 2 bar chairs - the kind with a padded swivel seat, tubular back rest and a foot rest ring half way down. Then I removed the 4 rubber leg tips, sawed 14 inches off each leg and reinstalled the rubber tips. Been using them for a few years now and they work fine. Maybe some day I'll get around to installing casters on the legs. Someday....
I use an armless office chair- secretarial type...... I really like it since it's comfortable, adjustable to almost any height I need. Been using the same one for 15 years! Very stable too!!!!!!!
I've seen those before. I've never given them much consideration. I'm not spending $600 on a shop chair right now. They would be nice for sure.
I was at Lowes yesterday. My new tool chest/work bench is Kobalt. I tried to see if I could get a matching stool also. They apparently used to carry them, but between looking on the online store and what ever store inventory search they have access to internally we determined they are just simply no longer available. So on to other searches.
Northern Tool make a decent padded one with back rest. https://www.northerntool.com/products/northern-tool-equipment-adjustable-swivel-shop-stool-with-backrest-steel-275-lb-capacity-29in-33in-seat-height-20230?cm_mmc=Google-pla&utm_source=Google_PLA&utm_medium=Automotive%20 %3E%20Shop%20Seats%20%2B%20Stools&utm_campaign=Nor thern%20Tool&utm_content=20230&ogmap=SHP|PLA|GOOG| STND|c|SITEWIDE|OOT|AutoAccessories|{adgroup}||168 759356|8718461996&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_ca mpaignid=168759356&gbraid=0AAAAADpPfbOUipWex-mKag4GE12rWx5Bq&gclid=CjwKCAiA86_JBhAIEiwA4i9Ju_Wx xzLfdNb5noLhNLuplFAanN3nHZOOMHuTtmGcnotoXjECtgxfxx oCEH8QAvD_BwE
