Over the past few months, ive noticed some extra mechanical noise on my 05 v10. Now im not confident these are new, just that I just recently noticed them. They sound like very subtle ticks, clicks, and other mechanical sounds. They aren't very loud. Also ive noticed a louder combustion sound when cold. When the rpms finally drop to around 1000, I hear almost like extra combustion, not a miss fire exactly. Its extremely hard to explain so I might post a video later. Anyway am I likely ok and just paranoid or should I look into these things?
Could be either or both depending on your hearing and the actual sounds. I'd say post a video or audio that actually captures the sound well and we'll be able to help figure it out.
Now its hard to hear the sounds im describing in the video, but the main ones are: combustion sound is sounding different then normal, and there's also a very quiet tick that goes tick tick tick tick tick, pause, repeat. (I know the louder tick that happens once every 10 seconds is the a/c, thats not the one im talking about)
I Probably sound stupid and paranoid lol.

It has 138k. Been in the family since brand new in 2005. Its been meticulously maintained the entire time. It used to tow a 4 horse, goosneck horse trailer and around 4-5 tons of hay every few months. Performance is good with no jerks, gutless feeling, or trouble reaching 60 mph when towing.
Spark plugs were changed around 100k, and they are definitely all in place. Also the timing chain sounds i thought i was hearing a few months ago turned out not to be the timing chain, as i found a video of a cold start from 8 years ago and it sounds the same.

I don't hear anything unbecoming. Good to have the AC compressor cycling as it gives us a reference of the video's sound levels.
As mechanical fans got quieter, and then changed to electric, it gave us less cover for other noises . . . noises that we wouldn't have heard otherwise. Then, engines started adding stuff that makes more noise like overhead cams and direct injection.
It must just be normal sounds im hearing, but I think ill take the valve covers off at the next maintenance interval, just to check if theres sludge, loose parts, or severe wear. thanks for the help.
