2013 Transit Connect: Crank, no start after battery change.
This happened back in mid-July. Came out to start the van one morning and just the click of a dead battery. That in and of itself didn't concern me very much, I have enough on-board systems in this van that going several days without driving it would result in the battery getting to weak to start. I normally keep it on a battery tender too. I keep a jumper pack in the van too, so I jump start and go to my office. At lunch, same issue again and now I figure the battery did need to be replaced so I go to a nearby NAPA, purchase a new battery, and swap it out in the parking lot after work. The starter hung up on the first start with the new battery. Started normally on the second attempt. I made it back to the NAPA store to trade in the old battery for the core charge, went back to the van and it cranked but was reluctant to start. Took a few tries but finally started and drove as normal for the 40 minute commute back home. Parked, had dinner, went back out to start it to pull it out of the way of my truck and now only cranks and doesn't try to run. I've checked every relay and fuse, checked for fuel at the fuel rail connection, replaced crankshaft and camshaft position sensors, replaced fuel injectors and coil packs with OEM parts several months ago and everything worked fine until the battery was replaced. I've even replaced the PCM with a refurbished one from a company a mechanic recommended to me. I had a locksmith come out just in case it was PATS related but no such luck. I'm pretty much out of options aside from taking it to the local Ford Service shop but wanted to see if anyone here might have one more recommendation.
