Happy with the truck, just the lack of extension mirrors is disappointing. I knew not getting the xlt or other trims I wouldn’t get the pwr seat and a few other options. I couldn’t see it worth the money. I overlooked the part where the mirrors didn’t manual extend. I was looking at the Ford cargo vans and it would say extended tow mirrors. When we decided the F350 was the better route the sticker shows “tow mirrors” but not extension lol. To me if the mirror doesn’t extend, it’s not a tow mirror. Towing an alum fishing boat doesn’t count haha. We tow 34’ bumper pull TH. The driver side isn’t bad, I can almost see down the whole side. The passenger side I need another 4-5” of mirror to be able to see. This rig has the 360 view and only aftermarket company that has extension mirrors is (so far) Boost Auto. But it says they don’t offer a mirror for a 360 surround view! So I can pay $1000+ a piece for oem mirrors or buy the cheap clip on mirror. Any ideas
Thanks

Cheap clip-on seems like the way to go. Whenever I've used them, I've found that I use the normal mirrors for just about everything, and use the clip-ons for compliance and to occasionally look behind. If you have the money though, the extending factory mirrors would be great!
I wasn't aware Ford made Super Duty mirrors that didn't extend anymore, either manual OR power. I thought it was standard for them to extend since like 2003 or something, unless you got the little half-ton mirrors on them.
I agree that it is unlikely that 2024 F350 XL side mirrors cannot extend. I thought the manual extending mirrors are standard on XL and XLT. Did you try pulling the side mirrors out farther ?

On the XL’s theres different packages, it’s a mess really, pita how they do it. I have “tow mirrors” on the window sticker. You can have “extended tow mirrors” like you have. I have the 360 surround view also which is part of the STX appearance package. I’ve yanked on them really hard and no movement. I’ve talked to the dealer, service guy (dad owns the store). I’m actually taking it in for first oil change tomorrow, rotate the tires, 6600 miles. Front tires are wearing on the edges a bit. The other thing they need to look at is, when taking off I feel a little clunk. I think it’s the calipers when they release? The other thing it could be the driveline. Two days ago on my drive it only did it once. If you let off the brake easy and slowly accel, no clunk.

Maybe they need a little more tug?
Sorry about your situation. Never thought that Ford would put non extending mirrors on a truck called Super Duty. The F150 yea I get it, or some kind of sport package, but not a heavy duty work truck.
Maybe they slipped it in during the non locking hub time of the 2024.

On edit I feel like the guy that told the non locking hub guys to just turn it harder. LOL
I don't trust the AI answers - I have put the same question through it a couple times within 10 minutes and gotten conflicting answers on things.
However, if yours simply don't move, then they don't - I don't understand why and didn't know that XLs could come with 'fixed' mirrors, I've never seen them personally. I never did the build and price on an XL for a '25, but on the new '26 build and price the ONLY option shown is for manual fold/extend, so it appears they finally DID get rid of the 'fixed' mirrors.
If yours truly are the 'fixed' mirrors, your options are clip-ons (which I have never had good luck with, they seem to 'shimmy' more than I'd like) or spend the money on new manual extend mirrors with the cameras so you don't lose your 360° cameras. The second is much more expensive.
Color me surprised as well that some SD mirrors do not extend. I'll take your word for it.
My 2 cents, is that I sometimes totally forget to extend my mirrors when towing. And the few extra inches is not even noticeable. Countless times I have been towing, realized I forgot to extend them, then power them out, and it just makes no real difference.
So, would I pay $1,000 to get that little extra width? Hell no! I don't think I would bother swapping them at all.
