I have used The Seat Shop replacement seat foam on my wife's 2004 Expedition and it worked great. Now we have a Navigator with failing cushions but The Seat Shop says they don't carry replacements. Anybody ever try the Expedition cushions in a Navigator? If so, how did it go? Thank you.
I have had a 2006 Navigator since 2007. It was totaled on July 11th this year. I immediately began locating a replacement Navigator and some parts rigs to maybe save my original one. The more I looked at the wreck the worse it is, to the point that it is only parts at this point.
I purchased another clean but worn 2006 Navigator. I repaired the running issues and front brakes and a set of tires, it was usable. The driver’s seat was blown out, I began searching for a complete seat. I also continued to search for more parts cars. I purchased a 2006 Expedition with a transmission leak, drove it on the trailer. Basically the same car, chassis, body, etc..
I them bought 2 2003 silver Navigators, one was basically parts, but it drove on to the trailer. It had the right driver’s seat for the other 06. The second 03 is one to build as a replacement for the wreck, very nice with good options but one broken timing chain.
Saturday was seat day, I pulled both seats and put them on two 6 foot tables for evaluation. The colors are a slightly different shade of blond. After a close look I decided to swap the foams and covers. The steel parts are the same, the only reason I didn’t just swap the complete seats was that the wiring connectors were different. The 03 seat has four connectors and the 06 has three. I have an 06 expedition, I will look when I get home tonight.
If you are happy with your foam source there appears to be several leather vendors on E-bay for Navigators.
