Nebraska's "Dog Days of Summer" August BS thread

It has been a beautiful end to July and start to August in my wood with temperatures in the high 70's to low 80's, rh< 60%, index withing 3° of the temperature, no rain, nice breeze and the night in the 60's!
Have a great start to the week and month!
Camped at Grand Island this weekend. Nice to be out in the camper again. Finally found a mower for my kid down in Hastings so I ran down there Saturday to pick that up. Saturday night the camping neighbors had a mini explosion in their campsite. I thought man that was louder than usual for wood popping. About that time I got smacked in the forehead with something. I was on the door side of my camper a good 30ft away from their fire pit. I walked around the corner and said hey not sure what exploded over there but it hit me in the head. The guy immediately says are you OK? It was a glass bottle! "They usually melt not explode!". I went in the camper to check with the wife to make sure nothing hit the side of the camper since she was inside. She heard nothing. That's when we found I was bleeding, not bad but still bleeding. I grabbed the flashlight and found the piece of bottle that flew over my camper and just happened to hit right where I was walking. What are the chances? The next morning they left early. I walked around and never found glass in their site but I found the back half of a jim beam bottle.... How none of them got hurt I'm not sure. I'm sure the idiot put the cap back on before throwing it in the fire.
Mowed the forest I call my yard yesterday. It's really growing this year. I didn't check the rain gauge this morning but I'm sure we got over a half inch overnight just by looking at the puddles in my road.
Have a great week gents!
Nice to see they started your building Pat. You won't know what you did without it. Someday I'll get one.... The whole season has been very timely rains. It's nice for a change. It's like back when I was a kid. Started in on the "new" 5x10 last night to un farmer joe it. I hate when people butcher trailer. It's not hard to change them and make it look good. The farmer who had this at one time needs his welder taken away. Luckily I have most of what's needed laying in the scrap pile. I did sell my 5x8 the other day for 200 more than I paid for 5x10. I think my plan is to fix this one up and possibly sell it at some point so I can get a 3500lb trailer that fits the Bobcat better. I also got a quote from the H&H deal for a set of ramps for the equipment trailer, only $270 so I may pull the trigger if these ramps my buddy has don't work well. The ramps are cheaper than what I'm seeing online or on marketplace. Aluminum ones would be amazing but I want them to fit in the holders and so far I'm not seeing any that work.
Headed to Dallas again next week and home through Kansas City later in the week. Hopefully this is my last Dallas trip for a while.

How many doors are you putting in, Pat? How big are they going to be? I went with two 10x10 doors because mine faces to the north and didn't want one big one letting all the warm air out in the winter. I was originally going to go with 9' wide doors but my contractor talked me into 10's and I'm glad that he did. My half ton is still pretty tight going through the door. My trailer is even tighter. Should've maybe gone with 12's but didn't want to sacrifice any more wall space than I needed to.
Our heat index is supposed to be well over 100 degrees today after about a week or so stretch of it last week. I think I'd like to have the German weather, at this point...
