Good morning Joisey...Welcome to July!!! Gonna be a Triple H Day here...looks like you're getting the same. Boomers moving in here early evening...I love a good boomer!!!
72 with what the weather channel shows as 90% humidity . up here in the far norwest jersey, stuck my head out the door felt like it was raining when it wasn't
done!!! today started out brutal. 67 degrees and raining. then got hot and raining, 80 with 120% humidity. around 1:30 the rain stopped and the sun came out, and while it got hotter, the humidity almost disappeared. it is currently 89 degrees, but only 45 % humidity.
here in the house it is 68 degrees with 26% humidity.
to humid to mow this afternoon.
tom
saw a few crazy overloaded tandem dumps coming out of hamburg this afternoon, going south , both had dual tag axles down having problems getting up that low grade by the 23x 94 light in hamburg, sat and watched while they couldn't pull it in granny low,
yup, way too many people out there that have no idea how to spec a truck.
i speced my new T880 out with 15 565HP liter cummins, allison RDS4500 trans, and 456 gears. while it would only do 75 at rev limiter if i did not have speed limiter set at 66, it will pull a freight train without even breaking a sweat.
i was 124,000 lbs this morning and was pulling away from cars when the light turned green.
i laugh at these guys that get 450 hp paccar engines, eaton fuller ultrashift trans, and 390 or taller gears so they can run 120mph+ on the rev limiter.
i get 8 mpg at 80,000 lbs to their 3-4 mpg. their setup is only good for road runners. my setup is for local running, under 45-50 mph.
older trucks tom. sadly i did not pay attention to what make truck, as i pulled to the light just as they were trying to pull that grade spitting coal black smoke out of dual exhausts, big low sun shades over the windshield, making me ask myself how they could see out of it, with a long line of cars and other trucks behind them , yet judging from how flat the tires looked if stopped that would be one heck of a ticket
hear you on specing trucks tom, that brought back the days of running east/west with a 855/350 hp cumapart , before they got smart and turned to the 425/1693ta cats ,today sadly the motors i love have not been available in road trucks for well over 10 years, bright yellow with the name CAT on them , cummins ,guess it's them , or patcar or volvo today gear and trans them right they work,
good morning jersey, weather reports not looking nice, rain wind, hail,
