Intake Manifold Modification

Looking to push any HP I can out of my 64 292 while keeping it mostly stock. I’m looking to upgrade to four barrels but manifolds used are 300+, has anyone tapped their intake for four barrels in Y block’s specifically? I don’t see why a couple aluminum spacers, milling, and welding wouldn’t take care of the job. Would a fab shop even do that? Would it save me money? Any help or past experience wisdom would be great.

If you don't want to spend the bucks on the 4Barrel manifold, the next best thing is to put a 500cfm 2barrel on it. Holley has them listed on their site or did the last time I looked. The fab work you mentioned will burn through cash at a fab shop without giving the hp you could have gotten with the 4b.I would buy the manifold instead. I ran a Holley 500 on a Mustang back in the day because it was an easy upgrade. A friend gave me the carb so I had no money in that upgrade.
