I am trying to figure out where to post this to get the most eyeballs.
I am having my car repainted and I want a dark burgundy color that pops during the day and looks almost black at night. I have done tons of research and have seen the color in person but not at night. Looks great during the day. Does anyone have a vehicle this color and if so how does it look at night?
if I should post somewhere else feel free to let me know. Thanks!
The best way is to 1) pick a factory color- doesn't have to be Ford, but then you will always have the paint formula, and it can be repaired, matched, etc. Visit a local auto paint supplier and go through their paint chip books.... they will have plenty of them and tell them what you want and most likely they will point you to the vehicle brand that is known for those colors. Don't get in a rush as you will find the exact color you want.
My 2024 Expedition has a color similar to what you are asking for. It's a red metallic flake in direct sunlight. Cloudy it's extremely dark, almost purple. Low/no light and it's black. We actually didn't know it was "red" for almost a week after buying. Weather had been very overcast and rainy in January when we bought it. Sun finally came out and I saw I had a red car.
Color is Jewel Red. Notice the change from 1200 to around 7:00 once I installed the guard yesterday

I think they re-named 'Magma Red' to 'Jewel red' or released a new color VERY close to Magma...because that is EXACTLY what Magma Red vehicles look like.
