Hi all! I just started having a 'fast flash' on the dash indicator when I activate my left blinker. I checked, and the lower bulb on the rear blinker is not flashing. Simple enough, I replaced the bulb. Hmmm, still a 'fash flash' and the bulb is not flashing. I checked and both the old & new bulbs are ok ( switched them out with the other (top) blinker bulb). Ok, so must be wiring or a connection? I looked over what I can see of the wiring and it looks ok. Any hints on how to troubleshoot this?
Get a testlight so you can probe the connectors and the wiring. It may be simply the socket is bad. Or a tab in the socket needs tweaked back out to touch the bulb. The good thing about the testlight, it is a bulb so it should start blinking when you find the circuit is good.
If you clip the testlight to a ground, like the bumper or something, and then carefully probe the socket and everything seems ok, it may be the ground connection in the socket or that circuit, since you are using a different ground for the testlight.
Problem solved! I used a tester to verify that the socket had power. So just a matter of slightly bending the prongs in the socket to make better contact with the bulb! Than,s all for the suggestions!
