2008 Escape 2.3 l New EGR leaking
UPDATE. I bit the bullet and replaced the EGR valve with new one and new stainless steel gasket. I made sure the bolts were tight. Drover 3-4 miles to a store. When I parked, I saw coolant dripping from under the valve. Came home and it was still dripping , but less. The only spot it could be dripping is under the EGR valve. I'm going to take it off again and reinstall with RTV sealant and see what happens. Really annoying...
UPDATE 2.0 it was a pinhole in the hose that attaches to the coolant outlet (the big black cube with a lot of hoses that attach to it next to EDR). It is a hose that attaches at an angle to the bottom of the outlet, and sneaks UNDER the EGR to the front of the engine. No clue what it does or where it goes. I shortened the hose so that the pinhole is now under the clamp, put the self sealing silicone tape over it, and clamped it. So far its not leaking. BUT I need to find out what is that hose and where can I buy it. Sure hope I don't need to take intake manifold off to replace it.
