Disaster averted
but wasn't sure what it was. So I proceeded carefully.
Turns out it was a rubber seal from a nozzle. You see I use the nozzle from a discarded def container that I find at the truck stops and attach it to my oil jug to make the process cleaner. Well it popped off somehow into the oil jug. Luckily I saw something fall into the jug.
Needless to say I won't be using those nozzles anymore.
Keep your Head on a swivel. By the way 55,000 trouble free miles so far.
Cheers!
i have never had one pop out yet, and we have been using the nozzles for a few years now as they fir quart and gallon jugs perfectly.
but you do have to make sure they are fully seated because if just tossed on a shelf they can pop loose.
but when we see they are loose we toss the nozzle, as we use two pallets of DEF a year. that 192 2.5 gallon jugs a year between three dump trucks and two F550's
That would of suxed if that breather nipple fell in the engine...good catch.
Most certainly disaster averted.
