I purchased a 2017 f150 with a 3.5 duratec with 51,000 miles on it about 2 years ago. I was pretty happy with the truck overall and was getting 23.75 MPG on the highway driving about 65 MPH. The truck now has about 71, 000 miles on it and is getting 17.5 MPG driving 65 MPH. The milage dropped off right after it was serviced. I was getting missfire codes and took it to the dealer 2 times and they kept if for 9 weeks total and could find nothing wrong with it. I changed the plugs and coils myself and no longer get missfire codes or any other codes. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be wrong or what I should do next to try to get the fuel mileage back up? I have run 3 different types of fuel system cleaner through it and it didn't help.
No need to hide here in an engine specific subforum as the 2015-2020 subforum exists.
I imagine winter blend fuels are still being used where you are at, which would ding MPGs some. It’s possible the transmission has learned some driving habits over time and the “lie-o-meter” might need a reset.
I believe your 3.5 is actually a Cyclone, rather than the Duratec it was based on.
