Howdy! My 2016 Ford F-150 5.0 has been giving me some problems. My transmission was replaced by the dealership and everything was smooth sailing. 6 months later while driving and got to 5th gear, I could hear the grinding of the gears, so I took it back to the dealership. They replaced all internals of the transmission, and it was running flawlessly. Now, since I have gotten it back from them when I first start it up it drives normal, but about 10 minutes later the wrench light pops back on. From 4th to 5th gear I lose almost all power and I can see on the right of my odometer screen it drops to 1st gear then to 6th gear. Completely skipping 5th gear. Also, when I get to around 60-70 MPH I literally have to push accelerator way down to increase a LITTLE Speed. I don't know if it's still a transmission issue, or electrical, or what. PLEASE HELP!!
Sorry if this isn't clear... let me know in the comments and I will try to clarify anything for you!
Transmission replaced by dealer - with a NEW transmission? Grinding of gears in an automatic - I would think that means a new transmission, not just "replace all the internals", just because the most cost effective option would be a new transmission at that point. Hopefully it's still under warranty because that sounds like a major mechanical problem to me. Good luck!
