Thanks. Looking forward to getting the rig back. Driving over to dealer this morning it was driving like it always does - just purring underway. Told them I wanted OEM pump back as well.
Just hope swap goes smooth as I am on my way to the Keys for the winter and stopped in a dealer on the way down to have the swap done. With a boat in tow and truck camper on the back it better goes smooth😂

get them to give you the steel lines as well.....the 20 and later lines are different from the 11 thru 19 lines. if you sell your old pump it would be good for the buyer to get the steel lines as well.

Should be pretty straightforward. You won't see the difference other than paying the bill and knowing the CP4 won't cost possibly $10k+ if it did crap the bed.

I let service manager know I wanted OEM pump and all related hardware to hook it back up in the event I would need too. I will reaffirm the steel line request.
I plan to keep pump in truck as I use it exclusively for long trips. This truck has less than 500 miles of DD on it.

That's exactly what I do with my old CP4. It's stored in the plastic tub in the pickup bed, along with all my other emergency parts (belt, hoses, coolant, fuel filter set, oil, big roll of duct tape, etc).
The one thing that you might notice (that I immediately noticed while listening to the engine running with the hood up) is that the DCR is a little quieter than the CP4. Maybe it's anecdotal, but seems that way to me.
Wow... that's cool a dealer would do the install... I'll assume you have a decent relationship with this dealer and trust them then.
Well I was shocked as well. The dealer is out of state. Bought a new Bronco from them last spring that was how I found the truck and the dealer out of state. Flew from Miami and salesman picked me up in the Bronco and drive back and closed on it.
Dealers in my local area back up home acted as if I was the devil😂 when I asked about the swap. I took a stab and called the dealer I bought the Bronco from as it’s on the way to my wintering grounds in the Keys. They said no issues.
On the plus side, you may have given the dealer an idea to offer the DCR as an alternate when a cp4 fails.
I got the feeling they were no strangers to doing this swap as they told me exactly how to go about ordering the kit and also purchasing the new fuel filters Ford recommends.

That's awesome... a common sense dealer who knows a quality aftermarket product and will support their customers with installation.
Got truck back from dealer. 7.2 hours was the time billed for. Had to pay for tax on labor so it was a bit more than I was quoted, but I wasn’t aware labor was subject to tax.
No biggie though. Under the hood all look well attended too. Only difference I could discern upon approaching the vehicle and after 30 miles of driving it was the smell of diesel fuel. No doubt due to all the work disconnecting and reconnecting fuel pipes and R & Ring the new fuel filters. That makes 3 sets of new filters in ~34k miles on the truck.
Honestly drivability wise and performance and what little reset of lieometer I couldn’t tell any difference.

Just ~$4k oop . 😂
Mine had the same diesel smell for a few trips, it's gone now.
