Just picked up this 2012 f250 around 250k miles fuel gauge doesn't work truck is full of fuel guy said it had a code for injector 2 and 6 but no engine light when I loaded it but it seems like it's just running out of fuel and I'm new to these motors so any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
So there are no codes on the truck as of right now, and the truck runs really rough misfiring and everything and the way it's acting is very similar to my 7.3 when it ran low of fuel. Kind of shaking misfiring and all around rough

Hi @cab swap,
I believe you are confusing no check engine light with no codes. As bad as you say it is, it would most likely have underlying codes. As someone previously mentioned, get FORScan, relatively cheap and a great program for these trucks.
Also, provide some info about the truck, stock or modified. If it is tuned, do you have.the tuner or know which company, etc.
Also with FORScan you can monitor fuel pressures along with injector performance.
Completely stock all emissions still intact no tuner i will pull codes when I get home or tomorrow right after work but from the little I did with it it had no light on and yes Ill pull the rail pressure and everything like that once i get some time.
If this is the 6.7 Powerstroke, sounds expensive. Low fuel pressure would be the CP4 gone bad, bad CP4 means shredded cam and buckets, which means metal in the high pressure fuel system which clog injectors. If it is, hope you like working on engines as it will need a lot of work.

Are the codes all my good scanners that'll read pressures and everything **** the bed so I can do any of that yet
I think its more of a volume issue because it just cold started like it was 90 degrees and usually low pressure means bad atomization of the fuel wich leads to hard starting but it starts great
it also had a code for low battery voltage but I don't know if that could cause any issues

Hi,
So 266, 278 are your #2, #6 cylinder contribution / balance.
300 is random misfire detected.
Not certain about what the rest of your post stated?? If you need a good program to read as well as change parameters, run tests, FORScan on a laptop, license is $15 a year, OBD2 adapter is around $50-75 for the correct one. As stated in one of the above posts, next step would be to see if you can read low pressure side (fuel) and then high pressure (both commanded and actual).
*added: just saw your truck is 2012, so low pressure will not show actual pressure, but if ok or not.

I meant that it cold starts perfectly so that pushes me away from low fuel pressure

also clears up quite a bit with rpm still noticible misfire but runs alot smoother

I agree. That it starts means you are getting at least 5000 psi on high side, (at least for starting) but if it was me, I would want to see low side pressure and what the high side commanded and actual is, e.g.; when you give it throttle and it goes to 8000 commanded, does the actual keep up?
The other is run a contribution / balance on all the injectors. That may be (likely?) where your actual problem(s) are (#2, #6 injectors).
Ok more info
p0273 i think map maf sensor code
I gave it throttle and when i let off it died but after I cranked it for a minute and it started back up and ran the same
Drained lower filter into a cup check for metal shavings and it was clean
Just bought OBD2 reader and it wouldn't read fuel pressure so I need to run to town to get a different one

Hi,
You can clean MAF sensor (dry paper towel best, no chems; brake /contact cleaner, etc.), Forscan needs specific OBD2, they have a list on their site.
