Hello all I'm new to the forum. I have a 2010 Escape with the 4cyl. The issue I'm having is when the engine is running and you turn the AC on the rpms drop to around to 500-600 the car struggles to find idle and eventually dies. It will run good with the AC off but at soon at the compressor turn on it struggles to stay running and then it dies. I've changed the compressor, throttle body, egr valve, spark plugs, and valve cover gasket. I've done a vacuum test I took it to the dealership and that can't figure it out. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
it would seem to be either a vacuum leak present or the AC is creating a high load condition to the engine.
other than the low idle, if you were to rev up the engine slightly while the compressor is engaged, does the AC appear to be working? Seems like it must be or you would have pursued the AC system further, having already replaced the compressor.
What are the AC pressure readings? Wondering if the AC might have a collapsed hose or plugged orifice causing the compressor to exert a high load on the engine.

I had another guy look at it he found that the #2 and 3 cylinder had low compression. I haven't touched it since the holidays so I'll be digging further into in soon.
