Happy Sunday! Made it Miami Ok last night. Trailer towed well. Right about dark I noticed the trailer lights weren’t working. Pulled over and dinked around enough to kill them totally but still had one brake light and brakes. Limped to town. Pulled the wrong fuse and killed the truck. It looked roached and came out in two pieces. Ended up being the fuel pump. Swapped a fuse and left Dollar General that had no fuses and got to a gas station. Swapped in new fuses and got the trailer working. Pulled out and watch the lights blow again then immediately got pulled over by the cop who watch me put in new fuses. Checked a couple places and found two plugs arcing to ground for lights that didn’t work. Wasted an hour on the whole ordeal but but that’s not.

Got to the hotel and the look is closed so the kid is disappointed. It’s the only reason we booked this hotel. We did get a kids room so she had her own little side room with bunk beds and a tv.

It snowed in Topeka today…

Husker did Husker things Friday…. Volleyball too but saw they got the title Saturday. Good news for that. Hopefully the loss motivates them.

Good morning, everyone! Thanksgiving for my side on Saturday... woke up to puke in both kid's beds. That put me about 2 hours behind on cooking for everyone. Then the wife started to not feel good... she basically slept the whole time everyone was at our house. Everyone left around 3 or 4...just in time for me to start feeling cold and nauseous... I barely slept Saturday night/Sunday morning. The whole family was dragging pretty badly all day yesterday and nobody really seemed to have an appetite. Daughter woke up crying at 4:30 this morning which is really uncharacteristic for her. It's been a great past couple of days, to say the least.

Merry Monday morning Nebraska, Pat, Lee, Kenny, TC and all the crew.

Kenny, sorry to hear about your weekend and I hope everyone is feeling better.

Anyway, the start to the week could be a little better in my woods. 16 FROZEN degrees this morning and this is the first of December and no February!! We shouldn't be this cold for 2 months!!
I hope everyone has a great day. Me I will be inside and warm until it is well above frozen!!

Good morning all, welcome back from the weekend! Kenny, sorry to hear about you and the fam getting sick! Just another reason to hate winter!!! Last day of being wounded, go under the knife at 7 am tomorrow. Cold and windy out today, don't see me wandering out if I don't have to!!

TC, sorry to hear about the issues with the trailer and truck! Bummer about the pool being closed also.

We made it back from the trip basically even free last night around 7. Truck stayed tied down and tight the whole trip so I must have done something right. Checked it each stop and then at home. At home I found the front half of the drive shaft had come out and was just floating on the trailer deck. How that didn't come off on the interstate and wreak havoc I have no idea. Biggest issue I have now is one side of the dana 60 is missing the hub/drum. I have a hub I guess but no races, bearings or nut. Going to call around so I can get it off the trailer after having the sheriff do his title inspection.

Sunday morning while in the hotel the 19 year old (who's in the process of moving out) texts just as I'm falling asleep to say his tire is "flat AF". Told him to not drive it and he responded back ok I pulled over. Great that means he was driving on it then proceeds to tell me hes going to drive to a caseys' to put air in it. I called him at this point and said dude you can't drive on it. After some words he hung up on me. Then called back just as I was about to fall asleep again to say the tire was off the rim. Told him to call Road Side to get the tire changed. This kid is not mechanical at all and his g6 is rusty enough I'm not sure it would jack on the pinch welds anyway. He calls back again just as I'm falling asleep to say he nor the tow truck driver can get the spare out of the trunk. Neither of them could figure out how to just break the plastic retainer for some reason. At that point I told him to just tell the tow truck driver to tow. This tow driver told him he had to call his dispatch or the insurance company again and they couldn't convert the call. So my kid again had to make calls and an hour later the same tow driver shows back up....

So last night after getting home I got to load the car up with tools and head to Lincoln to change out his tire. I get there and I got 1 lug nut off. The other 4 won't budge. Not with a mid torque impact. Not with a cheater bar and a 350lb man jumping on them. and I was not equipped for a fight. That's when my kid says the tow truck driver had the rim off and put it back on. Great! Called the tow company who told me the driver only has a 4 way. After some fighting I got the dispatch lady to call the driver who confirmed he did have an impact, and to for her to call a manager to get them to come out and get the lug nuts off. While in the process of this 2 police officers show up and talk to a neighbor. Then a fire truck and an ambulance. Scanner said the neighbor was suicidal.... Tow truck driver shows up while all 4 emergency vehicles are there... He proceeds to struggle and use the wrong socket. Eventually he ripped all 4 of the "chrome covers" off the lugnuts and the nuts came out. I'm pretty sure the driver the night before used the wrong socket as well and screwed the covers up and that makes it dang near impossible to get off.

I did get the spare out of the trunk with brute force only to find it was flat. Aired it back up as well. I usually check those, I failed there for sure. Then as we showed up the kid tells me he forgot his wallet and keys!!! So he rode in with his mom this morning to get his car back to our house so he can get to work.... I finally got to bed a little after midnight and now I'm in a training class all week.

If all I had for issues was the typical trailer wiring issues I'll take it!

How long are you out of commission after surgery, Pat?

TC, my sister used to pull crap like that on me when she lived in Lincoln. I can't tell you how many trips I made down there for stuff like what you're going through. Isn't it great to be the go-to guy?
