It is the season to watch the leaves Fall in WV.
A little rain the morning and it should clear and be partly sunny. Currently 64° and headed to about 75° in my woods.
Rod...trees are starting to turn here also...some are shedding leaves. Looks like the colors won't be bright due to the warmer than average summer.

Hope y'all have a great day!!!
Rod... Some of my trees are starting to drop leaves but might be from lack of rain and going dormant. All my big pines are shedding tons of needles.

The only thing changing color down here is the WV maple dad brought down and planted last year. It always changes color a few weeks before the VA maples start. I guess it'll never "accept" that it's down here in the flat lands instead of the mountains. It turns yellow, orange, red and the leaves fall. My next door neighbor tells his visitors the tree is "his" when they ask it the pretty tree in his yard.
Might get some sun today and start drying out the yard/grass.
Last week I was running the Coupe up and down the road twice a day, sometimes 3 times. I realized this morning I haven't driven it since Sunday morning. I'll run it up to PT this morning and then it'll probably set several days before I get in it again.
Trip to the D Day Memorial tomorrow. They're still discussing whether or not to try to visit Thomas Jefferson's "second home" or not. I'm not interested. I figure a four hour round trip with a walk around the Memorial in between and then lunch somewhere will be all I'll feel like doing. I'll have my Kindle just in case. They can visit and I'll sit in the bus and read.
Have a great day guys.
The leaves here have been turning brown and falling for 6 weeks due to the lack of rain and the heat. Alot of trees are 50% bare already.
There isn't many pines right around me after the big Ice Storm a few years ago. It took almost all of them out. So, no Pine needles to deal with.
Jim, you know how it is with West Virginia, You can move them/it but it will never be home, and you can't get the mountains totally out of the system!
What effects the tree leaf color:
Too warm
Too cold
Too dry
Too wet
Nites too warm
Nites too cold
Not the year for it
Soil too rich
Soil too poor
You pick the reason and go with it!
Supposed to be a nice day here with lots of sun compared to the last 3 or 4. Supposed to be sunny with a high around 77 at Bedford. I think I'll wear a light jacket this morning so I can take it off later vs. figuring I don't need it this morning and then being cold for 3 hours before the sun gets things warmed up. Never rode on the church bus so no idea how well the hearing/cooling system works. Never thought about how well it might, or might not be, maintained either. Till just now. Sure would hate to get stuck somewhere it a broken down bus. Guys, my wife would figure I've jinxed the trip if she knew I'd said that about the bus.
Not going to visit with the boys today till we get back sometime this evening. No need of walking in the wet grass or getting muddy pawprints on my clothes/arms, etc. Lucky got me yesterday. Nice clean clothes for about 30 seconds after getting in the gate. My wife says he doesn't try to jump up on her. I know she hasn't spent the amount of time I have trying to figure out how to stop that. I tried every trick the Vet. suggested and a few I thought of and none of them worked. Well, not longer than 10 or 15 seconds anyway.
Have a great day guys. Enjoy the sunny weather if you get the chance.
I was on my way from Missouri to Pennsylvania for a gathering of 48-56 Fords and going towards exit 10 on I70 I started losing power. It died at the end of the exit.
A guy named Thomas that builds race cards, no carburetors though had a tow strap and hauled me to the hotel 200 yards from where I died. He is has asked around to some of is friends that might help me figure out the problem.
I'm not getting spark. Got a new coil at NAPA, still no spark. My wire from coil to distributor got hot and melted some insulation but it still has continuity.
I put new spark plugs in when I was in Columbus Ohio this morning. I'm at a loss at the moment. I might try new points and condenser. Do those fail suddenly like this?
It's always an adventure!
