Looking for some assistance in/around Chambersburg
Hi All. I'm hoping to see if I can get some local help with a logistical challenge I have.
I buy a lot of surplus items out of the Letterkenny depot, generators mainly. I have a load of trailer mounted units I need to retrieve... but I am only interested in the generators on the trailers.
Here is what they look like loaded down:
And with the generators removed:
Each box is about 1200lbs. I am trying to be creative in finding a local source of help, a shop, etc that I might be able to dismount the generators (only held on by 4 bolts each) and load my trailer with just the boxes.
Secondarily, I'd be looking to give away the trailers. They have marketable value, but are more of a pain in the *** for me than anything. I will have (4) available.
Any thoughts local FTE folks? I have a guy just over the line in Maryland willing to help me, but at a rather significant price for what it takes.
Or if not a shop, someone with a tractor and forks (and an extension cord I can run some tools with) willing to trade some time in their yard dismounting these, for even trade for the trailers. I have that same trailer up on FB marketplace right now asking $1k. REAL heavy duty units, tires are rated 4k lbs each. Air over hydraulic brakes. Good for off road trailer, or some general use around a farm.
Closer to Chambersburg the better logistically. Thanks
I cross posted this into the monthly BS thread to get some eyes on it. I'm not nearby nor do I own anything to lift them with but maybe someone who sees the BS thread might.
Appreciate the help. I'm hoping I can line something up. Its ~400 miles each way for me to trip down, and diesel ain't free these days (nor is my time). If I can combine two trips into one, its well worth it for me.
I live in Chamberburg, I can check around and see if anyone I know is interested. Not sure the trailers are good for anything more than scrap TBH. Don’t seem to have much of a practical use, though they are very heavy duty. Just really short in length and tall.
Thanks. I've sold them to farmers and to folks doing work offroad. I honestly don't care what happens to them after the fact, it would just make my life a heck of a lot easier if I could dismount them in town and just haul the boxes back. Just over 400 miles door to door for me, so two days of driving and a hotel stay. Would like to only do that once instead of twice... but you can't always choose when items become available you know.
