Does anyone have the part numbers for the Motorcraft fuel filters! I was looking on diesel filters online and just wanted to make sure I had the correct numbers. Thanks

When I went to Village Ford Parts, it says it's discontinued,

Fuel Water Separator Filter - Ford (HC3Z9N184F)

https://www.villagefordparts.com/v-2022-ford-f-350-super-duty--lariat--6-7l-v8-diesel/air-and-fuel-delivery--filters

I did it for 2020, 2022 and 2024...

But you're looking for Motorcraft set FD4625AA...

https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c.../mot0/fd4625aa

says it's good for 2017 to 2024.

Okay so on diesel filters online, this one here says that it relaces the above referenced part numbers...

https://www.dieselfiltersonline.com/...2-filters.html << $71.95

>>>>SKU: FD4641(LC3Z-9N184-A)<<<<

[FD4641/LC3Z-9N184-A]2017-UP Ford 6.7 liter Powerstroke turbo diesel Motorcraft fuel/water filter kit(2 filters). Says for 2017 through 2023 which would include your truck as well..

>>>>This now replaces the FD4624,Fd4625,FD4625AA<<<<

BUT, these will work as well... says for year 2017, but the filter system is the same for up to 2024. Maybe the filter specs changed??

https://www.dieselfiltersonline.com/...2-filters.html << $63.95

[FD4624/HC3Z-9N184-B]THESE ARE NOW >>FD4641<<

https://www.dieselfiltersonline.com/...es-fd4624.html << $72.95

says for 2017 to 2021...

[FD4625(HC3Z-9N184-C)]THESE ARE NOW >>FD4641<<

WOW... Autozone has the FD4641 set for cheaper... $69.99!!

https://www.autozone.com/filters-and...41/1103556_0_0

Here's from a review there...

Genuine OEM Motorctaft parts

Genuine OEM Motorcraft part at a fraction of what the dealer charges. Nothing but the best! The only brand which meets Ford factory warranty compliance specs. Change these fuel filters EVERY 10K miles. * PRO TIP * Change when fuel tank is at 1/4 full to reduce pressure in fuel system & minimize chances of getting soaked in diesel.
What kind of vehicle do you drive?
2021 Ford F250 6.7 PowerStroke Diesel

went back on village ford parts and searched FD4641 and walla... $83.19

https://www.villagefordparts.com/oem...c=cT1GRC00NjQx

Fuel/Water Separator - Ford (PC3Z-9N184-C)

Hope this helps...

For the engine bay

there are two part. numbers

one with out a bypass valve

one with a by pass valve

research the scary business with the one with the by pass valve.

For the fuel filters why are you not switching to the https://www.powerhouse-diesel.com/co...-filter-system or the https://hs-motorsports.com/collectio...relocation-kit ?

Just curious? Seems like the aftermarket filters are much bigger and better and easier to install and cheaper to buy new filters.

Thanks and good luck!

Perhaps because those Cat filters are metal?

The OEM filters are pretty solid, there are some quirks I don't love about them however by and large they are a good set up. No pressing NEED to switch to aftermarket filters, it would be more a preference thing IMHO.

Good question. Why would anybody use the excellent Motorcraft filters for $70 bucks which have pushed a lot of these trucks beyond a half-million miles when you could easily spend $1,200 on unproven aftermarket parts that present new problems?

because the newly released motorcraft engine bay filter has a by pass valve now. So once it goes into by pass , the fuel muck will go directly into the injectors.

Only reason I chimed in - and may be wrong about it, but Ford went to great lengths to design a plastic system for the fuel system on the PS. Water is inevitable and rust/water will likely shut down a CP4 over time.

You'd prefer it didn't go into bypass, starve the HPFP, and wipe out the fuel system?

Only time it's going to bypass is if the fuel gets gelled and in that case you WANT it to bypass until it warms up.

Most light duty automotive applications have plastic fuel filters, however medium and heavy duty OTR, industrial, Marine and aggie fuel systems are littered with metal can filters. Even with the most basic of care a metal can filter is not going to rust out on you. Water is present and more likely in an off road application with fuel coming out of bunkers and above ground tanks or in marine applications where the engine is sitting in the water.

Personally, I would rather a fuel heater element.... Cummins and GM thought they were a good idea. IIRC Ford stopped using heating elements with the 6.0, save that five bucks I guess?

lots of service stations sell b5 thru b20

algae prone

thats how my engine bay filter burst

dont want crud going to the injectors due to filter by pass.

on 17 thru 19’s the engine shuts off when fuel pressure drops …cp4 doesn't run dry.

Those metal can fuel filters will only turn rusty inside if the owner purchases bad fuel consistently, never checks the fuel by draining it to see it, therefore never changes where it's bought. Plus we also do not know how long a period, mileage wise or even time wise (if it sat some but doesn't sound like it since it was a test rig for S&S) those filters were used.

That was just an extreme case scenario which showed what can happen with consistent bad fuel use, to aftermarket fuel filters, but also showed the reliability of the new DCR pump.
