Holly Carburetor Leaking but from where?
Holly Street Warrior Carburetor - 600cfm - model 4160 This carb as a fuel leak on the back side of the carb. I am not sure where the fuel is leaking from. Has anyone had this same issue with the same or similar carb? What was the fix?
to set the float, remove the small screw on side of the bowl. gas level should be rite at the bottom of the hole when running.
to set float, loosen the nut on top of the bowl, and turn the screw in center of the nut down to lower the float, or up to raise it.
raise or lower the screw until gas just starts to dribble out of the side hole, than turn screw in a smidgen.
then holding the screw, tighten the nut to lock adjustment in place.
if it still leaks, remove the 4 screws holding the bowl on and closely inspect gasket. it has to be damn near perfect to seal. no rips, pinches, or chips in it.

Excellent step by step instructions kind Sir. I will get to that this week and Thank You

I followed some of your instructions yesterday while working on the truck. I started by removing the two small screws on the side of each float bowl with the engine Not running, I noticed around the hole on the rear float that there was yellow in the hole where the small brass screw with small washer sit when screwed in tight, the yellow was where the washer sits and some yellow around the hole at the rear side of the hole. I also tightened (again, second time, not over torqued though) up the rear float cover bolts a little bit more on all 4 corners.
I then started the truck, started watching the two hole for fuel sloshing out slightly and YES there was fuel just barely sloshing out of each hole.
I shut the engine down. Cleaned all around that rear float bowl Hole, then put the front screw into the rear hole and the rear screw into the front hole just to see if I could get the rear hole to stop seeping. I sprayed that side of the carb with carb cleaner then restarted the engine and watched for anymore leaks, That seemed to stop the leaking on that side of the carb.
On to the left side/drivers side of the carb. I sprayed that side down then started the engine and watched for leaks and YES I found at least 3 different areas where fuel was coming out but really really slow like slow seeps. (see below)
These two pictures (below) are of right after spraying the carb cleaner and the carb was clean with no leaks visible, then I started the engine and these 3 seeps could be seen withing 30 seconds to a minute of starting the engine
With those 3 areas of the carb seeping, do I have to remove the carb to replace gaskets in these areas of the carburetor?
