I've got a 97 f250 hd with the 351 and tow package so it has the oil cooler, my question is can i add an oil pressure sensor with it still there? I've got the extension pipe and sensor from an 80s truck. I haven't had time to try and install it but it looks like the cooler will be in the way. I'd like to use the cooler if i can but if there's no way to clearance the sensor then I'll get rid of it
The extension is already there. Are you saying that there will not be enough room for the larger sending unit? Are you going to no longer going use the “gauge” in the cluster?

I don't have an extension in there at the moment and I'm putting this motor in a 80s truck with a functional guage
A 4 inch brass nipple from your hardware store and a 45 or T should suffice.
Fit it up as needed.
Easier to doo with ac/pwr steering bracket off.
Which way do the hoses point, they might be clock able.
I just uploaded a photo to a different person's reply and I'm not certain it's clockable and when I look at it it looks like a 4-in extension would hit it but I might be wrong
I had the same issue. I bought a small 1/4 brass t fitting, PN 06127-04. I had to machine down the t on it to make it fit in that spot. The Autometer oil pressure gauge I used has a large transducer that did not fit anywhere properly.
I used Locktite sealant, not tape, so I could set the fitting where I wanted it, and then lock wired the fitting/transducer so it can’t back off.
