Good afternoon I have a crank no start scenario.
It’s a 93 ford f150 300 I.
New fuel tank new pump coil plugs cap rotor.
It has plenty of spark,58 lbs fuel pressure.When cranking noid lights pulse and I can hear injectors ticking.If I pull spark plug it’s dry.
What would cause this not to start other then plugged injectors.

 

If you spray starting fluid dose it do anything?
What was done before this happened?
Where you checking for spark at coil wire to block or plug wire to block?
Are you checking for power at the injectors or ?
What codes dose the computer show?

It will run all day on either.
i was given this truck it sat for a year or so.The fuel was bad in it that’s probably what trashed both front and rear fuel pumps.
I check for spark at each plug wire with spark plug tester with ground to battery.
injectors are getting 12 volts.
codes were 332 543 542.I imagine the latter 2 are from the fuel pumps being trashed.The egr I thought was from it not running.
When I cover the throttle body with my hand it does a better job of wanting to start then without covering it.
could it be a maf sensor or throttle sensor.
It’s hard to believe all injectors are plugged.When cranking over I can hear then clicking with stethoscope.

 

It will fire right up
truck was given to me man can’t see anymore.Codes are 332 543 and 542 latter 2 are probably trashed fuel pumps 332 egr I thought that it was not running so it was showing that.
check flow power at injectors 12volts and flash when cranking.
when cranking I can here all injectors clicking.

 

I just did a smoke test for vacant I had a littte coming out of my throttle body linkage and a lot out of egr valve and also charcoal canister. Would these cause a lean no start.

 

Between all 3 it could be and more so for the EGR as that could be pretty big.

Canister you could plug off, same for the EGR.
Pull the valve and using a pop can cut a piece that will cover the opening and bolt the valve back in place.
On the TB sorry to say it will need to be replaced. Are you sure it is from the TB shaft & body and not a gasket between the TB and manifold?

Thing is you say it will run on starting fluid but if you stop spraying the motor also stops running right?
If so I would think once started with fluid it would stay running with all them leaks?

Dave I put a map sensor in and also a manifold sensor in the original ones were pretty nasty looking.
Now as far as plugs were 1 of them was wet one was a little wet rest were dry,after I tried to start it.One Plug was wet another 2 cylinders down was a little wet rest were dry.
Would you go ahead and pull injectors it it was yours.
Compression check was 160 175 175165170 165.
