93 F150 5.8 to 5.0 swap

I’ve tried searching and keep getting conflicting information . I have a 1993 F150 4x4 currently with a bad 5.8. It has the E40D transmission. I would like to swap in a 5.0 from a 1990 F150 with E40D transmission. I believe I’m correct that the flex plate stays with the 5.0 but am unsure about the PCM. Thank you in advance.

Both PCMs should work. You will also need a newer style 5.0 distributor for the remote mount ignition module.
