It is Spring in WV and time to sit on the porch and BS a little
Good April one and West Virginia, Jim, Ken, Steve, Bud, Tim, Roy, Craig and all the crew. It must be spring because yesterday evening I had to swat a mosquito and Friday I had a Tick try and bite me!
I hope everyone had a great Easter Weekend!
Rained pretty hard last night. The weather forecast for today/this evening may have changed since yesterday, I haven't looked.
I did sleep in this morning. Second or third time in the last 10 days or so that we haven't had something going on that required the usual 0500 get out of bed efforts. It was nice.
Bear's annual checkup with the vet. is Wednesday. He rides good and for some reason that big guy is the most laid back easy going dog I've ever had. We walk in, he looks around, he lays down on the floor by my feet and no matter how many dogs walk by or cats get carried by, he just lays there and watches. I've seen people let their dogs get almost close enough to touch noses with him and he doesn't even raise his head up off the floor. Not sure if it's a lack of understanding that he doesn't know what they might do or that he's so confident of his size/strength he doesn't care what they might do. I just wish he'd mind me as good outside the fence as he does inside the pen.
Good Tuesday morning West Virginia, Jim, Ken, Steve, Tim, Bud, Shaun and all the crew. It looks to be a nice morning but storms this afternoon and 75°.
We didn't hat the day the Soothsayers predicted yesterday. All we had were a few little sprinkles.
Good morning Rod...Jim...all of WV...and...wandering postitutes...Happy Saturday #2!!! Gonna get some showers here this afternoon...and...tomorrow it gets interesting...a Winter Storm Watch in the area. Looks like the white crap should stay just west...looking like up to 10" just a few miles away. Just MA Nature letting us know who the boss really is!!!
Not supposed to rain today. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow and then clear up and cool off some. Not like home though. Weather prediction for Quinwood is snow Thursday and Friday. No idea how much. Supposed to be just below freezing both day and the get to about 35 Saturday and into the low fifties on Sunday. Looks like the truck it going home again. All my truck miles are trips to WV.
We got into painting in the bathroom yesterday. Stopped around 830 last night. Hopefully finish it up today.
Did something the other day I've only done a couple times in the past. Grabbed something heavy or twisted my had wrong while moving something and put enough pressure on my right hand trigger finger to cause the finger nail to cut through the skin all along the right side of the nail. Darn thing is a bit tender and red. Only bled (very little) for the first evening. Kind of red/irritated and I keep putting antibiotic cream on it several times a day. Might be to the point now I can just put some vaseline on it and keep it from getting stuff in there till it finishes healing.
Bear goes to the vet. tomorrow for his annual check up and we'll find out if he's heavier than last year (104 lbs. then). He and Duke get pretty rough playing sometimes. It's spooky to see how hard they hit each other and to hear the thud when they hit the ground. I've seen both of them know the other one off their feet. I think that's more by accident than on purpose. Just big boys playing.
Where I was stationed at in the Army you had to be over 6 ft. tall. My platoon had to be over 6'1" tall. They (command) finally stopped us from playing football. Too many people getting hurt playing tackle football with no pads/helmets. They said flag football was okay but that didn't last long. People still got hurt so they ended that, too. All we could do was play basketball at the base gym. No softball up there for some reason (I didn't play softball anyway, I was a baseball guy.)
Evening Rod and Jim. Did an oil change early then the rain started so I didn't do much more. I have the Ford tractor in the garage to replace a seal on the power steering, but it will be a pain since you have to remove the dash to get to it.
Good morning Rod...Jim...all of WV...and...wandering enthusiasts...Happy Hump Saturday!!! A "wintry mix" here for the next few days...up to 4" of it...hope MA Nature is taking better care of you!!!
Jim...hope Bear's visit to the vet goes well!!! Rod...hope you're day at the Sammich Factory is uneventful!!!
Good Wednesday morning West Virginia, Jim, Steve, Ken, Craig and all the crew. It was a stormy day yesterday with some strong winds! There is a lot of damage throughout the area. I didn't have any damage or trees down but several around me did!
