Ford IDS trouble
It’s the word to describe a this issue. I have a 2015 Ford F350 lariat, dually, diesel. To start off, the truck got hit by lighting somehow without visible damage anywhere except chipped asphalt underneath the TCM. This issue is all electrical, and we figured out by a Ford mechanic that it the PCM and TCM are fried and we replaced and programmed them by that mechanic. We recently lost contact with him so we took matters into our own hands and bought a Rotunda VCM3 which revealed problems that he wasn’t telling us. Problem like modules failed: CDIM, DCSM, DSM, GPSM, HSWM, HVAC, RTM, TRM, ABS (all these according to the IDS). So far we have the parts for ABS module and GPCM which also failed since the truck runs but without the warmth of the glow plugs before start. The thing that’s blocking us from going further is programming the ABS module. It just won’t program, I think I’m missing a step in the process of programming it. Could someone please explain the steps of programming the ABS module? Specifically the steps to program within IDS?
The folks that know about this sort of thing don't often visit the "Ride Of The Week" forum. If you start a new thread over in the "1999 to 2016 Super Duty" forum, I bet you'll get a lot of good responses.
Welcome aboard!
So many Semi-Conductors. Most likely a ton of problems.
Did it strike close to the Radio Antenna, that makes sense.
The truck is screwed is the best officer I have.
When it comes to the ABS try putting the truck in Maintenance mode and then releasing it from Maintenance mode.
There are Videos on that on youtube.
The only thing that’s left to be programmed would be the GPCM. I can’t find anywhere on IDS that’s gives me the option to program that module. Only thing I could find was through the self test tab and when you go down to PCM and there’s something for the module there. I’m assuming there is some type of special instruction that’s within the system.
