Help for 1958 Ford F250,272 Y Block Carb identifcation
Heya, names Danny, new to the forum. Got a quick question on a 2bbl Holley Carb. It's a ECW-R and I'm having trouble figuring what rebuild kit I need or what other already rebuilt carb options I have available (electric choke would be nice). For now I just want to keep the motor bone stock in order to get it just drivable. Any thoughts, info and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! -Danny

The list number, 1603 on the air horn is what you need to order parts and identify application. You are missing a screw and spring which goes in the hole on the accelerator pump arm located on the side of the carb. It activates the accelerator pump arm located on the bottom of the float bowl.

Thanks for the info! The number on the airhorn is actually 1605 and googling that I found a lot more info and rebuild kits for it too. I haven't been able to find a picture online of the missing screw and spring for the accelerator pump so I'm not sure how it'd go back together. Does it comes down from the top above the pump arm, or the bottom where that other bracket where there's a small hole in it is? I'm hoping a rebuild would have that so I can see exactly what you're talking about.

Hopefully someone can provide a picture for you. I’m on vacation and away from my shop with my refrence books. I searched google but could not find a clear picture of the missing screw.
