small block carb recomendations?

I have a 67 289 with a stock ford 4bbl manifold. its in an early bronco. I currently have a holley carb on it and i have been dissapointed. I didnt actully buy the carb (its just a bunch of old holleys i had laying around that i made into 1 carb.) anyway i was thinking of buying an edelbrock 600 with an electric choke. Would this be a decent carb for my engine? Its nothing fancy just bored .030 and a mild comp cam and duraspark 2 ignition. Would i need a fuel pressure regulator for this carb? im just running a stock mechanical pump that puts out about 5psi. I would prefer a carb that i tune once and it stays running well. Any help would be appreicated.

600cfm should be more than enough. I had a 600cfm on a fully built 289 in my 1966 Mustang. It would pull the front wheels in 1st and 2nd gear. Top speed of 140mph+. Gee I wish I'd never sold it.

Matt, the 600 auto. choke is the perfect carb for your 289.It also is built to run perfect on 5psi per Edelbrock.Ive used these carbs. exclusively in the past with no problems!Good choice!
