Looking for pinout for AUX upfitter switches (4-switch) 2016 F350
Sorry for the gigantic image (couldn't figure out how to resize).
Actually, only need to identify one wire. It's the purple/white wire that goes into the plug on the 4-switch AUX upfitter part AL3Z-13D730-AA
Looking at the back of the wiring harness plug I identify it as pin #2:
1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8
It's pin #2. It does not go to the relay panel; it goes up into a wiring harness behind the dash.
For additional reference:
85 - coil ground
86 - coil power
87 - device-side power
30 - battery-side power
1 - white -> 86 relay 3 AUX 4
2 - purple/white ????
3 - black - ground for all
4 - purple -> 86 relay 2 AUX 3
5 - gray -> 86 relay 4 AUX 2
6 - blue -> 86 relay 1 AUX 1
7 - green -> main power to switches
purple/orange -> 87 relay 3
cream -> 87 relay 2
red -> 87 relay 4
black -> 87 relay 1
If you are looking where to tap in, if it is the same as the F250 then it would be under the driver-side dash to the left of the brake pedal and back towards the driver seat less than a foot. These should be clearly marked with an AUX 1-4 white band around them and the ends will be sealed. They may also go through the firewall to make installation of extra stuff easier, but I'm not 100% sure.
The owners manual listed where these were, and the colors of the wires, amps, etc.. in the F250 so it should be in your F350 manual exactly where they are in case they aren't in the same place.
edit: Sorry, identify...
So that wire may be the ignition switch power - the upfitter switches are only active ( at least on the 250 ) when the ignition is not in the off position. - If green is always on then the purple/white may be the switched power wire. Put a voltmeter on it and turn the key to the on position and see if you get power in that state and not in the off state.
Back light Illumination, should be 12v, I don’t have a diagram in front of me but that’s how the older ones are.
Right on the money! Thanks. I tapped that purple/white wire into fuse 44 in the passenger compartment and it worked perfectly. Thanks to all for the info.
