Oil light coming on at idle
2001 ford escape oil lights coming on at idle changed out the sender and it wasn’t the problem even though the old one was leaking! What next ? Car has 227000 I know its got the miles I have a few others with around the same mileage they have at least good enough oil pressure to keep the light off !! Had a local guy tell me bearings are getting bad and probably will need an engine/rebuild drive it till it’s done. He acted like an oil pump isn’t the answer but I can’t quit figure it out why he would rule it out so easily? So the light stays off till the oil gets warmed up then at idle anything 1000 or less the light either flashes or stays on until you bring the rpm’s up a little.

Not knowing what engine, it sounds like an accurate diagnosis.
If this is not a one owner vehicle, you can't be sure of its initial history and the previous owner may not have been diligent with maintenance (oil changes, ect.) and engine wear would be the result.

It is a 3.0 v6. Am also kinda wondering what would cause the idle to be pulled down below 600 rpm’s while setting in drive on the brake warmed up I don’t believe it has ever done that and the engine light does not come on when it’s above 600 rpms
