Damn f450 problems again

Today I was moving 31k 5 miles down the road, from the shop to mu house. got a really hard downshift, slammed the transmission again. Like it always does on a monthly basis. This time a check engine light went off. Plugged the code reader into it, thought is would be the trans, but no. It's got a p2209 Knox sensor code. Weird how it came on right at the hard downshift, must have shook it loose. I have not drove the truck but 1.5 miles since that happened. Is the bitch gonna go into limp mode?

Did the wrench light come on?
That was what mine did when it was the trans TCM had an issue.
And, there is a TCM update out there that might help the hard downshift.
As to the code, you could clear it and see if it comes back, that is if you don't want to take it in to get checked out.

no wrench light. Last year when it went into limp mode after a hard downshift, it through check engine light immediately after just like today. It didn't go into limp mode today.

Yes, the trans had a reflash, and fluid changed 3 weeks ago when they took transmission off. So it should have the update. In fact this is the 1st time its done it now to think of it since the reflash.

Just gonna clear it, dont want to go back unless i have to. Dont have the time or patients for it... it would be there for weeks again.

If you are in an emissions area like I am…these types of problems will put you in emissions monitor not ready status and it’s a PIA to do the rain dance secret hand shake drive cycle to clear the monitor.

if you are towing a lot would recommend synthetic 15w40 like Rotella T6 . Foams less than the Dino stuff and you won’t be choking your scr/dpf with high is why your getting nox sensor codes. The oil vents out the ccv and there’s a hose that routers the oil must into your intake.

don't think so, if anything opposite. Ford dealer changed the oil in July at 19800k when they did the oil pan. They did 15w-40.
I have always ran 5w-40 from day 1, and never any issues from 6k miles till 19,800 miles. It says severe duty do 5w40. So that's what I've done in all 3 of my powerstrokes.

my olm is set for severe duty and the miles estimate is 3000 miles and it ticks down pretty fast. Bring this up as another analyst point.

True, not a syn, but also not a blend. If you can show me where Motorcraft/Ford says that Motorcraft 15w40 Super Duty diesel oil is a synthetic blend I'll believe it, until then I know it as being a straight conventional oil.

Agree on straight conventional.

USA - Motorcraft - SAE 15W-40 Super Duty Diesel Motor Oil

Also Motorcraft 10W30 Super Duty oil is straight convential as well since we're on this topic.

USA - Motorcraft - SAE 10W-30 Super Duty Diesel Motor Oil

Damn POS threw another engine light today hauling the 25k excavator. It was working hard, and the it went on. Stopped in the ford dealer, he pulled it up on the computer, and said it's a bad nox sensor on the dpf. It never went into limp mode (different code from last time, can't remember the code he said though). He said I have to leave the POS for 2 days to do it. Be inconvenienced again by driving 45 mins there and back. Thing is just finished up doing work down there, and won't be back that way for a while. I will be there tomorrow doing work but "can't do it" they claim.

...every time I think i got the bugs worked iut of this POS truck, more issues. Its been in december twice, February 2 weeks, July for 1 week, august 5 weeks, now gotta go back. Seems to be a monthly routine.

Im just gonna keep clearing the code, and drive it till it wont run no more, and have it towed in on fords dime.

like usual ford is slow, and sorry, have not heard a word on that f450. If I could get a gmc for under sticker I would swing it.
