I made a huge mistake of letting Simone use my truck, once it was brought back to me, it was 4” shorter, no brakes, broken rear brake line, major front end clicking, front ea. I longer raising, I coughs not recognize the leaf springs or rear diff.
How can I get the art numbers specific to my truck? Like the leaf springs? The transmission. Etc. the day after the truck was returned I showed up at the person house who used it and they were installing a rear ens and shocks, and leaf sidings into another truck . My transmission isn’t working, and won’t go into reverse, previously my truck wouldn’t go into first, now my truck goes into 1st but not reverse. They are having issues with their first gear not working.
also there was stickers and writing on parts of my truck that I have never seen before. How can I prove somone has done shady swapping? Can a bin sticker be moved?
What kind of truck are you working on and what year is it? Also, what engine does it have and is the trans auto or manual, overdrive or not, how many gears? We can usually figure out the axle from the type and year of truck, and sometimes the trans.
I have a 2003 Superduty 4x4 diesel w 6.0 lariat and I am trying to find out how to ensure my stuff hasn’t been swapped out . I don’t recognize my truck or the frame, or he springs, or much besides the interior. Help.
You have a strange situation there. Why would anyone replace all the parts you are talking about?
The fastest way to an answer here is to post some clear pictures of the parts in question.
I think you have issues beyond what can be done here.
If you suspect the user of your truck took parts off your truck you should contact law enforcement and get the ball rolling on an investigation that might go somewhere.
You can have someone here try to identify things but you will really be no where closer to a resolution.
As to the back story of who borrowed the truck and the circumstances, that would be a great story here but moves you no closer to a solution. Talking to law enforcement might.

First thing to do is check the VIN and make sure it matches your title/registration/insurance paperwork.
If someone borrowed your truck and things are broken/missing and they aren't willing to fix/replace any of it, then as stated above you need to be filing a police report and going through legal channels. Without us ever having seen your truck before, we can't tell you what is/isn't missing.

I checked the vin and it was matching. I was also pulled over and the police were checking my bins on different parts to make sure they match.
the first thing I noticed besides not having brakes was the wiring harness that runs under the backside of dash was old looking and the plastic holder was broken where the mounting holes belong, and some wires were cut.
I really want to verify that a part has in fact been swapped and doesn’t match what I had before I contact law enforcement.
Here are some pics that I took so far. Here you see a bolt that is very loose. What’s that green ? Part of the leaf spring. A leaf from the same set that has been written over with white stuff like to see better? Or what? I can tell there was a bolt there and it was removed.

Again, from those pictures things look stock. Not properly tightened, but stock. I don't know that we're going to be able to tell you what should be on your truck and what shouldn't, if you had aftermarket parts installed and they aren't there now, then you should be able to tell from a glance what is missing. If you bought the truck with aftermarket parts on it, again, you should be able to tell. If you have been doing a bunch of work behind your dash, you would know better than us if there had been any cut wires, though with an older truck the harness is going to look old.
Aside from the one loose bolt on the tank support, everything looks normal to me. The holes you show don't have bolts in them. I believe they are just drain holes.

Kind of hard to read……
By 4” shorter do you mean in length or height? I’m assuming height as I think length would also include some body damage. Do you have any pictures of the truck before this adventure to compare it to a current picture? 4” is a noticeable amount of ride height that should be fairly obvious from pictures.
If the springs were indeed swapped with another truck then there should be some obvious tool marks on the U-bolts that hold the axles to the springs. Where exactly is the rear brake line broken? Hard line on the axle or frame or is it the rubber line between frame and axle?
If there are fresh tool marks on the U-bolts then I’d call the Police. If you have photos to show obvious differences in ride height before and after, then someone has some explaining to do.
I won’t let Simone borrow my truck if she asks.

yeah I have never let anyone use the truck except that evening my son didn’t want to go, so I told them just take the truck, they had a thirty minute drive there and back. They were gone 11 hours. Left my truck in the driveway and tried to take off. I got into the truck and went to give them a ride home and was blown away. I asked why they didn’t park my truck and call me, why would they drive it home like that? No one does that.
we were supposed to go into business together but after that evening I told all involved parties we weren’t gonna do any business with this guy.

I guess that alone is a blessing , it’s only my truck right now, I can’t imagine if we had gone into business with this guy what would have happened. This incident probably saved me and some friends a bunch of future headache. People talk a good one these days .
